Beachburg Located in the heart of the Ottawa Valley, Beachburg's claim to fame is it's proximity to the whitewater rapids of the Ottawa River. This lovely village is full of charm and home to one of the best country fairs in the valley. Beachburg has a wonderful elementary school and many local businesses including gift shops, a grocery store, bank, convenience store, hardware store, bike shop, travel agency, arena, publishing businesses and many more. It is also the location of a medical center and senior's home. The homes in this area range from beautiful old farmhouses to new, custom homes with gorgeous rural views. The village is full of friendly people who all share a wonderful sense of community. Located in the Upper Ottawa Valley along the Trans-Canada Highway, approximately 10 kim west of the Ottawa River. This beautiful area is environmentally pristine with extensive forests, hills and numerous small lakes, all of which support a variety of wildlife typical to the southern edge of the Canadian Shield. Local services include stores, gas station, restaurants, library etc. Cobden Cobden is a great choice for communters due to it's location on the Trans-Canada Highway, also known as Highway 17. Events include the annual outdoor farmers market that runs from May to October and the highly attended Christmas market. Attractions in the area include Logos Land water park and Cobden Park overlooking Muskrat Lake. This town is complete with a grocery store, bank, arena, curling club, retaurants, gift shops, hardware store, furniture store, flower shop, ice cream parlour, fine clothing store, irish shopping and more. Deep River Located in Renfew County, Deep River is situated along the Ottawa River approximately 200 kilometres north-west of Ottawa on the Trans-Canada Highway. Opposite the Laurentian Mountains in Quebec, this town is a beautiful place to live. Complete with all the amentities of a thriving town, this is a wonderful place to raise your family. Deep River has achieved a degree of notoriety in the films of David Lynch. As well as being referenced in Blue Velvet, the town is specifically mentioned in Mulholland Drive, Lynch's surreal film about a young actress struggling to cope in Hollywood. Please visit this website for more information on services, events, maps etc. Whitewater Township Whitewater Region is a township lcoated within the scenic Ottawa Valley in eastern Ontario on the Ottawa River. The region is made up of the Village of Beachburg, the Village of Cobden, the Township of Ross and the Township of Westmeath. The region is named after the world famous whitewater rapids of the Ottawa River. Thousands of rafters and kayakers arrive during the summer months to ride the waves of the Rocher Fendu portion of the Ottawa. The Township also claims a distinctive place in Canadas history. An astrolabe bearing the date 1603 and believed to have belonged to Samuel de Champlain was discovered within the Township. A monument commemorating this historic site is located just outside of Cobden on Highway 17. The Valley is a great place to live, work and play. Tourism is one of the main industries with pursuits including skydivig, whitewater rafting, camping, biking, canoeing, hot air ballooning, ATVing, golfing and hiking.
